Artist's Statement:

The following collection are works which were created for clients to use in their homes as accent inlays for natural stone, ceramic tile, or hardwood.

They are naturalistic in theme, but quite abstract in their simplicity of form. I believe this simplicity allows the intrinsic beauty of the granite, travertine, limestone, marble, and semi- precious stone to be highlighted, making the work clean, elegant and interesting.

I generally make single insert pieces that coordinate with standard tile sizes, 4x4, 6x6, or 12x12. Composite scenes for kitchen backsplashes are built to fit appropriately. For inlays in a hardwood foyer or entryway, customers need only to supply desired dimensions, color palette, and thematic requests. From there I work with each client on a custom basis.

The vine examples look wonderful as a floor border around a dining table, as part of an archway over a stove, or any kind of running pattern. The acorn decos are made to fit into a kitchen backsplash, but also work great as accents in the floor of any room.
